Hi! I'm Camila but feel free to call me Cami.
I am a native Spanish speaker from Argentina and work as a one-to-one online language teacher.
My path into language teaching developed gradually and almost by chance. I first began teaching English, and later incorporated Spanish into my practice. Over time, teaching languages became not only a profession, but a space of reflection on communication, culture and learning processes.
Coming from a background in the arts, with a degree in Acting, my relationship with language is deeply connected to expression, meaning and context. This artistic training strengthened my communicative skills and informs the cultural dimension of my classes. It is also the foundation from which I approach language as something lived and experienced, rather than purely theoretical.
Alongside this, my work in a language institute allowed me to gain experience in curriculum design, lesson planning and structured teaching processes. My ongoing university training in education provides me with pedagogical tools that support a clear, thoughtful and well-grounded approach to teaching.
Living in another country has placed me, personally, in the position of learning to think and inhabit a different language. This experience gives me a first-hand understanding of the challenges involved in learning a new language — not only linguistic, but also cultural and cognitive.
For me, language is a tool for communication, but communication goes beyond speaking correctly. It involves understanding context, ways of thinking and cultural references. Learning a language is a way of learning how to look at others, how to relate, and how to approach realities different from one's own.
This perspective shapes the way I teach and the experience I aim to offer in my classes.
I hope we'll have the chance to meet soon — and speak some Spanish together.
